Our Sweet Journey Towards Sustainability
Our Sweet Journey Towards Sustainability
In the confectionery world, where indulgence often takes precedence, Flower & White has carved a unique path in our quest to create delicious treats that leave you feeling good.
We are committed to doing business in the right way, embracing sustainability as not just a goal, but a fundamental principle woven into the fabric of everything we do.
Last year marked a significant milestone for Flower & White as we officially embarked on our Bcorp journey. It's more than just a certification; it's a bold statement that underscores our dedication to balancing people and the planet with profit.
In an industry where glossy plastic packaging often prevails, we took a courageous step, back in 2020, by introducing recyclable paper bars and bites packaging. This decision wasn't just about environmental consciousness; it was about empowering customers to play a role in recycling and reducing their own ecological footprint.
Our commitment to treading lightly on the planet extends beyond packaging choices. Collaborating with local printers to reduce our carbon footprint, we promise that every decision, big or small, contributes to a more sustainable future.
Our LED movement sensor lights, installed in every room, illuminate our commitment to energy efficiency, and the shift to renewable energy sources further solidifies our dedication to reducing our environmental impact.
We recognise that collective efforts yield greater results, so we have involved our entire team in our sustainability journey. Bike-to-work schemes, an electric powered company car, battery recycling boxes, and initiatives to review and reduce individual carbon footprints are part of our strategy to create a culture of environmental responsibility.
When it comes to ingredients, from our British sugar to our free range egg whites, we prioritise sourcing locally whenever possible. Partnering with Barry Callebaut, a global leader in chocolate and cocoa products, we support the Forever Project. This initiative focuses on prospering farmers, upholding human rights, thriving nature, and ensuring sustainable ingredients. They aim to by 2025 lift 500,000 farmers out of poverty. With every one of our chocolate covered products containing 100% sustainable cocoa or chocolate, we are helping our customers to actively contribute to a more ethical and eco-friendly supply chain.
It’s not always easy, but we’ve always been clear that we want to do our best for our customers, our team and the planet. We want our business to be fun, to never take ourselves too seriously; to always do business the right way; and to make irresistible treats that make people happy. We wouldn’t have it any other way!
